Rivers, Waterfalls, Oh My!
Miles: 15
Despite some not so great things happening yesterday today was fun. We passed two larger waterfalls and I climbed up to one of them with green and took a shower in it. The second one everyone had lunch at. Right now Iām at the shelter I ended up at last year when I hiked this section. I might regret deciding to sleep in the shelter here. Seems like thereās a lot of mice but maybe they arenāt too bad. When I really look at them they seem kinda cute. I hung my bag up but Iām still hoping they donāt mess with it. Anyways stopping at the waterfall today and climbing it to take a shower reminded me why Iām doing this. The walking is good exercise but ultimately itās doing stuff like that which makes the experience fun. I miss having Zero around and I hope her leg feels better. Thereās another very cool waterfall I get to see tomorrow. Iām very lucky. Short one sorry! I listened to a podcast for the first time on trail today. I love Terrible Lizards, itās a dinosaur podcast that balances academic heavy research with fun. Dr David Hone is the host and does a lot of cool research and the co-host is a bubbly author that is kinda like his foil I suppose (literally term usage there). The episodes I listened to today talked about marine reptiles and their ancestors, spinosuars and how theyāre misrepresented in media, and the nanotyrannus paper. Apparently the nanotyrannus or the āfighting dinosaursā display is in North Carolina which made me sad I missed it. I didnāt know that. Donāt even know if itās out to the public yet though. The nanotyrannus is real! Also I cut a little piece of fabric to make mudkip a little scarf like what the characters wear in mystery dungeon. Donāt have the bandwith for any photos but I have some brewing up. Catch you next time.
