Miles: 9 something lol forgot exact number
Writing this from a (somewhat) real bed. I’m staying at the Mountain Crossings hostel tonight! Not to sound like a snowflake but this is the first night where I feel comfortable and safe… sleeping in a tent just makes you feel so exposed. Blood Mountain was intense but I got in the groove pacing with Sidequest and even met up with my other frequently ran into hikers. Had lunch at the top. Cracked open an enny (OG monster > White monster). The tree at this hostel is covered in the shoes of those that decided that this was far enough and they returned home. Home. I miss it. I sent some stuff home to make my pack lighter and I shaved ~3-4lbs from my base weight (big deal). My hiking sandals beat my trail runners so I sent the trail runner home (balsy move but huge impacts for me). If it rains I have waterproof socks! This hostel/store is like the Rivendell of the trail. It feels like a whole adventure happened to get here and this is the reward but there is many many more miles for me to go. I wish I had a pic of us all on the top of Blood Mountain but Y2K didn’t send me it even though he said he did :/
Also my mp3 player broke this morning for no reason at all but Sidequest was such a cool dude he made me feel better hiking with him. I will have to find a way to get music later. Wow look at all these cool trail names! Green Man said he was thinking I should be Squirter because he thought my Mudkip was a squirtle which is preposterous. The name is but mostly thinking Mudkip is Squirtle lol. Till next time!
