Return of The King

Some of us took a zero day today. Some of us didn’t. Modelo walked down the street today when we were all minding our own business and we all freaked out. We didn’t need to speak Chinese to let him know how excited we were to see him again. A funny conversation we had with Modelo was that he said the only reason he or anyone sensible would thru hike the AT (Appalachian Trail) is to triple crown. That’s hike all three trails also including the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) and CDT (Continental Divide Trail). The other trails are more scenic but require more planning. The AT is known for being the most social and hardest physically but not the best or most beautiful at all. That kinda made us laugh and facepalm very hard. he hiked the PCT before this one. Other things that happened today… Talked with my family for a bit and caught up with my friend June who really helped me get motivated to keep going. I really need the push every now and then. I resupplied for four days. I have so much food it’s insane and can only fit in a trash bag that takes up almost all my pack space. I’ve been eating like a muckbanging funko pop collector. Especially in town we get so much fast food and eat so much. We went to a fast food place today called Pal’s where it’s only a drive thru so we walked the drive thru and pretended we were in a car. I’m sure they never seen that one before. I got my additional resupply package from my parents and sadly decided it was time to cut some weight. Guys, the kickass knife that traveled over 300 miles with me (hundreds more than the haters wanted) was sent home. After Slackpacking I decided to really hone my supplies to only what I really really need to make room for food. Also if I really need a weapon I can sharpen a stick into a spear which would work better anyways. My knife’s been a menace. It’s tasted blood (everytime on accident), wood, and plastic wrappers on many occasions. It was a good companion. Other things that happened… Gus and Motor pushed forward. Green got new shoes. I found out my feet are strange and no normal shoes fit me. Scary convinced the man the Brazilian is traveling with (he’s in the affluent textile industry) to rent a van and take us to the Trail Days festival later this week. I met a girl who had the most beautiful journal with watercolor paintings on every page. Her trail name is brushstrokes. I’m sure there’s some more im leaving out but it’s 12 and I got to sleep so no pics. Was gonna post a meme anyways. Whatever! Goodnight everyone 🧐
