Shorter day today. It was wet and sort of cold and sort of miserable. But the fog was super cool. And Zero is now addicted to cigarettes. And scary days 19 miles in a day is nothing. I think it is a lot. (At a hostel with them and Yuri rn). Yuri has the worst shin splint known to man and is suffering. He might need to take a zero day. Sadness. But I might want to in Erwin donāt tell anyone though. Iām sure we meet up again and he shouldnāt ruin his entire run. Especially with the ātrail daysā festival everyone is going to there will be time. We ran into Sarge again this time heās doing the trail last time he had the cool trail magic truck camper rig. Itās in a way earlier post. Anyways heās a total badass, he covers like 25 miles a day and recovered from a serious injury. We also got cookies from the āsouthern cookie ladyā. She has a cottagecore cottage on the trail and makes cookies for all the hikers I think everyday?! Somehowā¦ got good sleep last night in my tent mostly because everyone else tented around me and the rain spitting on the tent was a good sound despite how annoying it is to pack a wet rainfly is into a pack. Iām going to try to get to Erwin NC in 4 more day (arriving on the 4th day) averaging 13.5 miles per day. Thatās about at my comfort level. Tomorrow I reach 300 miles and get to camp on Big Butt Mountain (itās real look it up) so thereās a lot to look forward to. Also the weather is going to clear up? Hopefully. Cya next time
