Big Waterfall Big Climb
Miles: 15
Today I woke up and got out at 7AM from my mousey shelter slumber. It was jarring to everybody that I left first but that’s exactly why I stayed in the shelter. Even with the head start everybody caught up but Gus really really slept in. He didn’t make it to the hostel tonight so I’m wondering if it was intentional or not. Laurel Falls (the biggest waterfall yet) was pretty spectacular even though it was my second time seeing it. After that we did a MASSIVE mountain climb. By the time I got to the peak I was covered in sweat like I jumped in a pool. Zero joined us tonight at the hostel. I met Squirrel today. She really suits her trail name. Kinda looks squirrelly and acts squirrelly. Anyways she lost her phone at the hostel and I helped her find it with the find my iPhone thing. This tangent leads me to this: we found a note on the trail yesterday night left by someone named DJ Butterfly. We laughed at what it said while catching it on fire because we imagined a 30-40 year old man leaving it. Turns out it was a 10 year old girl traveling with her parents. Squirrel told me that and well… sorry DJ Butterfly! Hahahahaha…
Here’s a picture of Green burning the note (oops) we are terrible people now…
Also Scary Hands suggested the trail name Rock for me and I’m trying to go with it now instead of Squirter.
