200 Miles
Miles: 5.7
200 miles of the Appalachian Trail Completed! If I were to do the whole thing I have 2000 miles left which I guess that means I’m 10% done? Not great at math but that sounds right. Last night I was so glad to be in the shelter because it thundered and there was lightening and hail. It rained BUCKETS! Today I did a shorter hike to the highest elevation in The Smokies (and the entire trail) ~6612ft. Formerly named Klingmans Dome and it is now called Kuwohi. It looks really cool if yall want to look it up. Also this specific area is above the alpine line and has such a cool unique biome :B .Lots of day hikers were treating us like superheroes hahaha which was not very humbling. I got a father and son to take my pic at the top of the dome and the weather cleared! The son saw my Mudkip and turns out he has a pokemon card opening channel like maxmofo or something so he gave me a card pack! I subscribed to his channel called Dapasaur or something like that. Anyways we all shuttled down to Gattlingberg to spend the night. I ran out of my food supply so it was necessary for me. I also decided to take a zero tomorrow. It may put me behind the group but I started a day after them and have to remember to give myself time to recover. The gang is lowkey getting split. Green pushed on even though we all kinda think he doesn’t have enough food. Fuckman is zeroing tomorrow. Everyone else as if now is going to get breakfast but then hike. It’s gonna rain all day so I figured out of all places to get a zero in this would be a nice place. I never heard of Gattlingberg but it’s like the vegas strip of the Appalachians. The gang (minus Green :| ) all had a great dinner then went to a karaoke bar. I even got up there but admittedly sucked. Our group hanging out felt like a shutterstock image of “young people hanging out” I don’t know how else to describe it hahaha. Anyways yall it’s picture time because I’m in a hotel. Also I’m going to miss the people who outpace me in the group but I atleast have their numbers and I’m sure we will meet up the trail in an unknown duration of time. I also met someone today from Florida who likes prehistoric creatures and fossils, a stoveless oatmeal dryscooper, and has long hair lol. Mako. Cool dude he also shreds on guitar. I picked up a stove today from a hiker box that seems like it might work. I also got an aluminum pot and a gas canister. I will test the stove sometime tomorrow. Jesse it’s time to cook B)
